The role of early-career workers in organisational sustainability transformation

Meeri Karvinen

I’m interested in how work organisations develop their sustainability competence and allocate resources to capacity building.

My research focuses specifically on the role of early-career workers in building organizational sustainability competence. The main objective is to investigate organisations’ perceptions towards the sustainability competencies and insights of young workers and explore potential measures that could facilitate dialogical learning and two-way knowledge transfer.

My research mainly focuses on the societal sustainability transformation and particularly contributes to the discussion on how work life organisations could accelerate the transformation through supporting learning and opening opportunities for workers’ individual and shared agency.

The research is mainly based on qualitative approaches, including abductive theme analysis of literature review and interview data, but I also employ practice-oriented  research drawing i.e. from developmental work research

Progress

Great start for the Programme! The first 36 postdoctoral researchers have been recruited and started their work. Half of them relocated to Finland from abroad.
