Optimal control theory applied to quantum error correction

Adonai da Silva
VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd.

My research focuses on using tools from optimal control theory to develop and improve methods for error suppression and quantum error correction in quantum computers.

We aim to accurately simulate processes such as quantum gate execution and measurement readout on one- and two-qubit superconducting systems, and to validate the obtained results using actual quantum devices at VTT. Improving error suppression and implementing effective quantum error correction codes are crucial steps toward the future development of fault‑tolerant quantum computers.

Progress

Great start for the Programme! The first 36 postdoctoral researchers have been recruited and started their work. Half of them relocated to Finland from abroad.
