Medicine use and safety in Finland based on real-world data

Anne Paakinaho
Finnish Medicines Agency

The main objectives are to investigate medicine use among older adults during transitions of care and the safety of cancer pharmacotherapy using real‑world data.

Specifically, we examine pharmacotherapy among older adults living at home and after transferring to service housing units, as well as medication‑related problems among individuals receiving cancer pharmacotherapy. Although medication‑related problems associated with transitions of care and cancer pharmacotherapy are well recognized, their occurrence and magnitude in population‑based data require further investigation and the development of new solutions in Finland.
