My research focuses on the intersection of environmental and natural resource policy, finance, and corporate sustainability practices.
The main objective is to understand how Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices influence the supply of ecosystem services in natural resource dependent sectors, and how public policies can support or steer these practices towards socially desirable environmental outcomes. It focuses especially on small and medium-sized enterprises, which play a critical role in ecosystem management but often face barriers in accessing sustainable finance. Methodologically, the research combines theoretical models from environmental and resource economics and finance with empirical analysis. The empirical work relies on case studies, firm-level information, policy documents, and comparative analysis across sectors such as forestry, food systems, and fisheries.
